28 volt battery powered PocketShear Model 6501ECH

- A PocketCap™ can be used on any standard, epoxy coated, or encapsulated
anchor.
- A PocketCap™ is easily
applied with a hammer.
- The PocketCap™ is a superior corrosion cap for encapsulated systems:
|

|
|
As you can see from the above, the
standard encapsulation cap leaves an air gap between the cap face and
wedge face that can trap air, moisture and dirt. As this cap relies
on an O-ring for sealing against the internal metal ring, there is no
positive "snap attachment" at the cap and anchorage. |
 |
|
The PocketCap™
not only eliminates the air gap at the face of the wedge set, but also
pushes grease between the wedges to the back of the anchor (Depth depends
on actual cut length of strand). This
leaves the encapsulation nearly void-free.
By designing the PocketCap™
to cause
the annular space between the cap wall and the strand to be less than the
cross sectional area of the strand itself, the grease is
"pumped" toward the face of the anchor and wedge set by virtue
of the "hammer blow" to the cap. At this time, most air
will escape before the final seal is completed. This works best with
clean, proper length cuts, such as those resulting form a PocketShear™
cut.
This result is the same for any
Bonded or Unbonded tendon anchor. |
