Safety Rules for PocketSetterTM
Proper Use of PocketSetterTM
Trouble Shooting

Step 1: Place the tool over the cable so the saddle part is down. |

Step 2: Keep one hand on the handle, place wedges on each side of
the magnetic tip. |

Step 3: With slide hammer in the back position, slide the tool
along the Cable until the wedges start an anchorage. |

Step 4: Slide hammer to stop point 2 to 3 times with a reasonable
amount of force or until the wedges securely seat into the anchorage. |

- Always wear safety glasses and gloves when operating the PocketSetterTM
- Always tie the PocketSetterTM
off when working in elevated areas using safety
ring on the back of the handle.
- Keep the PocketSetterTM
clean of PT grease and dirt.
- Keep hands and fingers clear of the front of the slide hammer and
the slide hammer stop.
- Inspect the PocketSetterTM
daily for damage, defects, cracks or excessive wear.

- Do not strike a PocketSetterTM
with a hammer or any other tool.
- Never weld on a PocketSetterTM
or come in contact with electrical current.
It will demagnetize the tip.
- Never use a PocketSetterTM
for a pry-bar.
- Use a PocketSetterTM
only for its intended purpose.
- Do not drop a PocketSetterTM.
- Keep the PocketSetterTM
stored in a dry area.

- Wedges do not stay on tip
- Excessive wear on tip (replace tool)
- P.T. grease or foreign material on tip (clean
with rag.)
- Magnets have been demagnetized (replace
magnetic tip)
- Wedges will not seat into anchorage
- Concrete in anchorage (remove concrete)
- Plastic shield from post tension cable in pocket
(remove)
- P.T. grease or foreign material in anchorage-(remove)

- Magnetic wedge setter will not fit or slide post
tension strand.
- Using 1/2 diameter PocketSetterTM.
on 5/8 diameter. P.T.
strand (check the size of P.T.and the size of
the
PocketSetterTM)
- Shaft of the PocketSetterTM
has been bent (replace the
PocketSetterTM)
- P.T. grease or foreign material in saddle area (clean
with rag)
- Slide hammer will not slide on shaft.
- Shaft is bent (replace tool)
- P.T. grease or foreign material has built up between
shaft and slide hammer (clean with rag)
